WHO WE ARE

Who We Are

The Laborers’ International Union of North America, LIUNA, was chartered by the legendary Samuel Gompers in 1903 and has been diligently working to uphold the rights of working men and women since that time. The New England Region of the Laborers International Union of North America is home to 74 local unions and 7 District Councils in the states of New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

We are one of the nine regions of the Laborers’ International Union of North America. Although our roots are in construction, we also represent men and women working in healthcare, municipal service, industrial workers, federal workers and most recently residential construction.
